Your Netflix Queue is Babylon: The 7 Ways You've Already Compromised (Issue 25)

Daniel refused a king's diet for 70 years. Why can't you resist your Spotify playlist for 7 days? It’s time to exit the 'harmless' habits that are poisoning your faith.

📱 TL;DR

Daniel refused Babylon's diet, music, worship, pride, astrology, and revelry for 70 years. Modern Christians can't resist for 7 days. "Come out of her, my people"— Babylon is your Netflix queue, your playlist, your horoscope app.

Welcome, Family

“Come out of her, my people.”

The angel's voice cuts through Revelation 14 with terrifying clarity. Fallen is Babylon the Great. She has made all nations drink the wine of her adulteries—false doctrines, worldly compromises, spiritual poison disguised as freedom.

Babylon isn't ancient history. Babylon is everywhere.

Your home. Your phone. Your playlist. Your diet, your pride, your worship, your calendar.

Daniel knew this 2,500 years ago. Kidnapped at 14, he spent 70+ years surrounded by Babylon's best: the king's food, empire education, culture's music, court astrology. Every compromise imaginable.

And he refused it all.

Not because he was superhuman. Because he understood: What you consume spiritually determines who you become eternally.

The Bible identifies seven ways Babylon infiltrates:

  1. The World's Diet (Daniel 1:5-20)

  2. Pride (Daniel 3:1-7, 4:28-30)

  3. Mercilessness (Daniel 2:1-13)

  4. Perverted Music/Worship (Daniel 7)

  5. Revelry (Daniel 5:1-4)

  6. Blasphemy (Daniel 5:1-4)

  7. Astrology (Daniel 2:1-2, 5:1-7)

⏳ The Sign

27% of Christians consult astrology, horoscopes, or tarot cards—and that's what they'll admit. 25% believe in astrology, the practice Daniel faced down when Babylon's astrologers failed.

Most do it "just for fun." They think dabbling in abomination is harmless entertainment.

We stream "Goodness of God" for 56 hours monthly but check horoscopes for life decisions.

This is Babylon: Christian labels with worldly poison.

Daniel faced the same. Babylon didn't say abandon God—it said add Babylon's wisdom to God's truth. Mix king's food with kosher diet. Blend astrology with prophecy. Syncretism is Babylon's weapon.

We're the most "spiritual" generation and the least spiritually powerful. Drinking Babylon's wine, wondering why we're drunk on compromise.

"Babylon hath been a golden cup in the Lord's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad"

- Jeremiah 51:7, KJV

Mad nations. Drunk believers. Babylon's wine making Christians indistinguishable from culture.

đź“– The Word

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."

— Revelation 18:4 (KJV)

Not "resist her" or "be careful." COME OUT.

Leave. Exit. Separate.

The seven compromises Daniel refused:

1. The World's Diet (Daniel 1:5-20)

Daniel refused the king's food—dedicated to false gods, violating God's law.

Today: What are you consuming spiritually? Your Netflix queue? Social media? Music? Your entertainment "diet" shapes your soul more than your meal plan.

2. Pride (Daniel 3:1-7, 4:28-30)

Nebuchadnezzar built a 90-foot golden statue of himself. Pride makes you the center instead of God.

Today: How much Christianity is about your platform, influence, reputation? Instagram-worthy faith is Babylon-infected faith.

3. Mercilessness (Daniel 2:1-13)

The king wanted all wise men executed for one group's failure. Babylon values power over people.

Today: How do you treat people who can't benefit you? Uber driver? Barista? Babylon taught you to be transactional.

4. Perverted Music/Worship (Daniel 7)

Babylon's worship involved music—directed at false gods. Beautiful melody, demonic object.

Today: What music are you consuming? Even "Christian" music perverts when it's about the vibe, not truth. About feelings, not holiness.

5. Revelry (Daniel 5:1-4)

Belshazzar threw a party, drinking from God's temple vessels. Babylon celebrates sin as freedom.

Today: The parties you attend. The "harmless fun" mocking holiness. If God's presence ruins the vibe, it's Babylon.

6. Blasphemy (Daniel 5:1-4)

Drinking from holy vessels while praising false gods. Babylon makes sacred things common.

Today: How casually do you treat God's name? His Word? Commands? When "Jesus" becomes a cuss word, you're drinking Babylon's wine.

7. Astrology (Daniel 2:1-2, 5:1-7)

Astrologers claimed to interpret mysteries through stars. Seeking guidance from creation, not Creator.

Today: Horoscopes. Tarot. Enneagrams as identity. Any system telling you who you are apart from God is Babylon's astrology.

But God doesn't just call you out—He empowers you:

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes"

- Ezekiel 36:26-27, (KJV)

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it"

- Philippians 1:6, (KJV)

"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure"

- Philippians 2:13, (KJV)

God provides both call and power.

Daniel was 14 when kidnapped. For 70+ years, he lived in worldly power's epicenter. Every compromise imaginable. He never bent.

Daniel 1: Refused king's food. Ate vegetables and water 10 days. Ended healthier than everyone eating Babylon's delicacies.

Daniel 2: King threatened to kill all wise men. Daniel didn't distance himself—asked for mercy, God gave the dream's meaning.

Daniel 3: Friends refused to bow to the golden statue. God met them in the furnace.

Daniel 4: Nebuchadnezzar's pride led to eating grass seven years. Pride destroyed him until he acknowledged God.

Daniel 5: Belshazzar's revelry ended with handwriting on the wall. "Thou art weighed... and art found wanting." He died that night.

Daniel 6: When prayer became illegal, Daniel prayed three times daily, windows open. Lions couldn't stop him.

70+ years—Daniel never compromised.

Every refusal, God vindicated. Vegetables made him healthier. Prayer opened revelation. Faithfulness brought promotion. Refusing Babylon positioned him for God's favor.

Same for you.

🔥 The Work

Seven diagnostic questions:

1. What am I consuming that's spiritually toxic?

List last week's entertainment. Netflix. Music. Social media. Would you watch/listen with Jesus next to you?

If no, it's Babylon's diet.

2. Is my Christianity about God's glory or my platform?

Count posts about God versus yourself. If spiritual life is more performative than private, it's Babylon's pride.

3. How do I treat people who can't benefit me?

Last interaction with someone "beneath" you. Service worker. Homeless. Image-bearer or inconvenience?

If the latter, you've drunk Babylon's mercilessness.

4. What music is shaping my soul?

Most-played songs. Directing worship toward God or feelings? Even "Christian" music perverts when it's therapy disguised as worship.

If using worship for emotional regulation instead of God-honoring, it's perverted.

5. Where do I celebrate what God calls sin?

Last party, event, gathering. Was holiness honored or mocked?

If holiness would've ruined your fun, you're in Babylon's revelry.

6. How casually do I treat sacred things?

Last time you used God's name carelessly? Treated His Word as optional? Made sin look cool while claiming Christ?

If sacred became common, you're practicing Babylon's blasphemy.

7. Where am I seeking identity outside God's Word?

Checked horoscopes? Tarot "for fun"? Personality tests to define you instead of God?

If consulting stars instead of Star-Maker, you're practicing Babylon's astrology.

✝️ Final Word

Daniel spent 70 years in Babylon without becoming Babylonian. You can't last 7 days.

Not because you're weaker—because you've never learned to refuse.

Babylon doesn't announce itself. It offers king's food and calls it blessing. Gives astrology apps, calls it fun. Provides worldly music, calls it worship. Makes compromise look like freedom.

What you consume spiritually determines who you become eternally.

  • Every horoscope trains you to seek stars instead of Star-Maker

  • Every perverted song shapes your worship understanding

  • Every prideful post centers you instead of God

You're not coming out because you don't think you're in.

"Come out of her, my people."

Not eventually. Not when convenient. Now.

God gives power to come out:

"A new heart also will I give you... I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes"

- Ezekiel 36:26-27 (KJV)

The same God who sustained Daniel 70 years will sustain you.

âťť

He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it

- Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

But you have to choose to come out.

In His Love,
- Mogaka Events Ministry

P.S. If you think checking horoscopes "for fun" is harmless, remember: Daniel's Babylon did the same. God called it abomination. What you call entertainment, God calls compromise. Come out while there's still time.
