#032: The 3 Secrets of Unstoppable Speech

Officers sent to arrest Jesus returned empty-handed. His words carried power. Yours can too.

📱 TL;DR

Officers sent to arrest Jesus returned empty-handed: "Never a man spake like this man." Friday's testimony night showed the power of speaking—but 80% of Christians don't witness despite having testimonies. Jesus had 3 secrets: Assignment, Awareness, Authority. Learn them. Speak better.

Welcome, Family

Last Friday's testimony night was powerful.

Our Bible Study members shared how God moved in their lives. The way they spoke inspired me. Not just what they said—how they said it.

It made me think: Why is testimony so powerful? And why do so few Christians share theirs?

We have testimonies, but we don't speak them.

Why? Because we don't speak like Jesus spoke.

When officers were sent to arrest Jesus, they returned empty-handed. The Pharisees demanded, "Why didn't you bring Him?" Their answer:

"Never man spake like this man."

— John 7:46 (KJV)

Jesus spoke differently. When He talked, stuff happened. To learn how, continue reading.

⏳ The Sign

The power of testimony is undeniable.

We have testimonies. We stay silent.

Friday night proved otherwise. Members spoke. Lives were impacted. The way they spoke mattered as much as what they said.

So here's the question: If Jesus spoke so powerfully that officers couldn't arrest Him, what did He do differently?

Three things: Assignment. Awareness. Authority.

đź“– The Word

"Never man spake like this man."

— John 7:46 (KJV)

Jesus spoke differently because He lived differently. Three principles defined His communication:

1. ASSIGNMENT: He Spoke with Purpose

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."

— John 9:4 (KJV)

Jesus didn't speak to hear Himself talk. He spoke because He was on assignment.

When you know your assignment:

  • External opinions don't matter

  • You speak for God's approval, not man's applause

  • Misunderstanding doesn't silence you

Jesus was so secure in His identity that He didn't care who people thought He wasn't—because He knew who He was.

Most Christians don't speak because they're insecure. They fear judgment, rejection, being misunderstood. Jesus faced all three and spoke anyway—because He was on assignment.

Your testimony isn't about you sounding smart. It's about God being glorified.

2. AWARENESS: He Saw People's Pain

"And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them."

— Mark 6:34 (KJV)

Jesus was aware of people. He saw their pain, peril, predicament. When He saw the blind man, He didn't theorize about sin—He healed.

We would communicate better if we increased our awareness of people. Our problem: We talk so people can see us. Jesus talked because He saw them.

Friday's testimony night worked because speakers saw their audience's need. They didn't perform—they connected.

Before you speak, see. What does this person need? What pain are they carrying? Speak to that, not to impress.

3. AUTHORITY: He Had Power Over Death

"Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."

— Mark 4:39 (KJV)

Jesus slept in the storm. When the disciples panicked, He rebuked the wind (false doctrine) and spoke to the waves (doubt). He had authority over nature, governments, and the grave.

"No man taketh my life from me... I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again."

— John 10:18 (KJV)

Jesus didn't speak opinions—He spoke truth with authority.

Most Christians speak timidly because they've forgotten whose they are. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. You have access to the same authority.

Friday's testimonies carried weight because speakers spoke with authority—not arrogance, but confidence in God's faithfulness.

🌍 The Witness

Friday's testimony night demonstrated all three principles:

  • ASSIGNMENT: Speakers knew their purpose—glorify God by sharing His faithfulness. They didn't perform. They testified.

  • AWARENESS: Speakers saw their audience's struggles. They shared vulnerably, meeting people in their pain. They connected.

  • AUTHORITY: Speakers spoke with confidence—not in themselves, but in God's power. They didn't apologize for the gospel.

The result? Lives were impacted. Faith was strengthened. God was glorified.

This is what happens when we speak like Jesus spoke.

"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony."

— Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

Your testimony has power. But only if you speak it.

🔥 The Work

1. Am I speaking with ASSIGNMENT?

Ask yourself:

  • Do I know my purpose?

  • Am I speaking for God's approval or man's applause?

  • Am I silent because I'm insecure about who I am?

If you don't know your assignment, you won't speak. You'll fear judgment, rejection, misunderstanding. Jesus faced all three and spoke anyway.

Your assignment: Please God. Serve people. Not the other way around. Everything else is noise.

2. Am I speaking with AWARENESS?

Ask yourself:

  • Do I see people's pain before I speak?

  • Am I talking so people see me or because I see them?

  • Am I connecting or performing?

Friday's speakers saw their audience. They didn't theorize—they empathized. Before you speak, see.

3. Am I speaking with AUTHORITY?

Ask yourself:

  • Do I apologize for the gospel?

  • Do I speak timidly because I've forgotten whose I am?

  • Am I confident in God's faithfulness or my eloquence?

You have access to resurrection power. The Spirit that raised Christ dwells in you. Stop speaking like a beggar. Speak like a son.

✝️ Final Word

Officers couldn't arrest Jesus because His words carried power. Three secrets:

  • Assignment (spoke with purpose, not applause),

  • Awareness (saw people's pain),

  • Authority (confident in God, not eloquence).

Friday's testimony night proved it works.

Over 80% of evangelism uses personal testimony. Yet 95% of Christians have never won a soul. Why? We have testimonies. We don't speak them.

You have a story. God delivered you. Transformed you. That testimony has power—but only if you speak it.

âťť

They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.

— Revelation 12:11 (KJV)

Stop performing. Start testifying. Apply Jesus' 3 principles. Watch your words carry weight.

In His Love,
- Mogaka Events Ministry

P.S. Friday's testimony night worked because speakers applied Jesus' 3 principles—whether they knew it or not. Assignment (purpose), Awareness (saw people), Authority (confidence in God). Learn them. Apply them. Watch your words carry weight.
