#008 – When Your Deepest Wound Becomes Your Greatest Gift
What if the father wound in your story is also the place God wants to heal and use?

Welcome, Family
Some people grew up with dads who were present. Some grew up with ghosts.
And if you're reading this, chances are you're still carrying that wound; wondering if it disqualifies you from being the man, father, or leader God called you to be.
Here's what we discovered last Friday:
The gift you never received might be the one God is asking you to give.
Today is Father's Day. Don't let another year pass wondering "what if." Let this be the year you stop bleeding and start building.

This Week's Bread
🩹 THE WOUND: Why your father wound might be your assignment
📖 THE WORD: Romans 12:3 and the gifts God gave you
⚡ THE WORK: 3 steps to activate your gifts by Sunday
🤝 THE WITNESS: This Friday's live session details
🙏 PRAYER: Healing for father wounds and spiritual breakthrough
THE WOUND
The enemy's strategy has always been simple: break the father, break the family.
Maybe your dad never said "I'm proud of you." Maybe he was physically there but emotionally absent.
Maybe he left entirely, and you're still trying to figure out what a man is supposed to look like.
Here's what culture won't tell you: that wound isn't your disqualification, it's your assignment.
The very thing you never received is exactly what God wants to heal in you and flow through you to others.
THE WORD
"For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith."
God doesn't waste wounds. He redeems them.
The Bible tells us to think with "sober judgment" about the gifts God gave us. Not pridefully, but honestly. You're not being cocky by using your gift, you're being obedient.
Consider this:
What if the encouragement you never received is the gift of encouragement God placed in you?
What if the compassion you craved is the compassion He's calling you to show?
What if the spiritual leadership you never saw is the leadership your family desperately needs?
Your pain has prepared you for your purpose.
THE WORK
By Friday, you'll know your top 2 spiritual gifts and have a concrete plan to use them. Here's how:
Step 1: Take the Inventory (5 minutes)
Complete the spiritual gifts assessment. Be honest about what you've experienced and what you've observed in yourself.
Step 2: Find Your Assignment
Once you get your results, ask yourself these three questions:
Which gift surprised you most? That's often where God wants to stretch you.
Which gift feels most natural? That's where you can start serving immediately.
What problem in your family, workplace, or community could this gift help solve? That's your assignment.
Step 3: Practice This Week (Daily)
Like Marcus, who discovered his gift of encouragement and started texting daily affirmations to his teenage son.
Or David, who realized his gift of service and began secretly handling household tasks his wife had been stressed about.
You don't need a title or a platform. You need willingness.
THE WITNESS
Every Friday night, our members from across the country gather virtually to study Scripture, share real struggles, and build authentic community.
We're not about perfect theology or polished presentations: we're about honest faith that works in real life.
Whether you're a seasoned believer, questioning everything, or somewhere in between, you have a seat at this table.
